We are Are

Founded by Dr. Jean Narcisse Djaha, a dedicated and visionary young leader, USA for ACFR is an initiative designed to mobilize more than 10 million Americans and U.S. residents in amplifying the work of President Barack Hussein Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. The initiative seeks to advance women’s leadership and political rights across the Greater Washington region and Côte d’Ivoire by the year 2050.

Vision Statement

To build a world where women and girls across the Greater Washington region, Côte d’Ivoire, and the global African diaspora have full political rights, equal access to leadership opportunities, and the power to shape democratic societies. By 2050, USA for ACFR envisions a transnational movement of more than 10 million engaged Americans and U.S. residents working together to advance the legacy of President Barack Hussein Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama in promoting inclusive leadership, civic participation, and gender equity.

Mission Statement

USA for ACFR exists to mobilize, educate, and empower communities across the United States and Côte d’Ivoire to champion women’s leadership and political participation. Through civic engagement, leadership development, advocacy, and cross-cultural partnerships, the initiative works to:

  • Strengthen women’s political rights and representation at local, national, and international levels.

  • Develop the next generation of transformative leaders inspired by the values of service, integrity, and global citizenship.

  • Build bridges between the U.S. and Côte d’Ivoire, fostering collaboration, solidarity, and shared democratic progress.

  • Engage over 100 million Americans and U.S. residents in advancing gender equity and civic empowerment by 2050.

  • Amplify and extend the work of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, promoting inclusive leadership and community-driven change.

National Resource Mobilization Committee

The USA-ACFR National Resource Mobilization Committee functions as the appointed volunteer leadership board of the USA-ACFR, a sister organization of the Global Greater Washington International Relations Committee in partnership with the African Council on Foreign Relations.

The National Resource Mobilization Committee works in close relationship with the office of the president of the Global Greater Washington International Relations Committee in partnership with the African Council on Foreign Relations. to mobilize resources, partnerships, and collaborations to advance the organization’s mission across the Global Greater Washington International region and Côte d'Ivoire. The Committee meets every six months (virtually or in-person).
